The Journey--Abstract--keep on experiencing life..as a journey

Each day is a new experience; a journey; and it's important to feel encouraged by simple things....sometimes is hard, but keep on walking.

This is the latest abstract I painted entitled "The Journey"--it sold, so this one will not be with me tonight--but a few other originals will be featured at Kadair's.

Come on by tonight--- Cause for a Cure between 7 and 9 pm. Kadair's is on Essen Lane. I will have a few originals, prints and it should be alot of FUN.

Ok...I cannot sit at this computer any longer. Have a great day.

I am flying out tomorrow morning at 6:15 to NYC. So--one last look at a landscape/abstract....relaxing.  Tomorrow--tall buildings and lots of people will surround us--and Starbucks will overflow--there is one on almost every corner. I am ready for a good slice of pizza too-

This painting is now hanging at Tyler & Possa Law firm on Broussard near St. Joseph's Academy.

Sunday's Best

Since today is Sunday---well---here is #7 in the Crawfish Series--Sunday's Best--located at The Foyer in Baton Rouge.

This painting makes me think of a song we sung at Camp Mountain Lake in Tracy City, Tn. on Sunday--Church in the Wildwood. I went to that camp each summer for a month since the time I was 8 years old until 18. The camp was nestled in the Cumberland Mountains --not far from Sewanee, TN.

Those summers were the BEST. In fact, I will get to see one of my summer camp friends, Whitney Johnson, this week when I go to NYC. She works for Partisan Pictures and has had the opportunity to travel the world.

Crown Royal...we all need a tad bit of royal treatment..don't you think?

Hi everyone:

Just returned from Olive Branch, MS...and the experience on the charter bus with a bunch of other ladies..was quite the experience...but well worth the trip. Joy Petty and I got to lounge in the back of the bus--where it was actually more spacious. We made it back to the Louisiana via the backroads once we got off the interstate.

Now, I am back in--Louisiana and soon  "Crown Royal" is making it's wasy to North Louisiana. Can I just say---thanks for the power of Social Media/Facebook!

It has been such an honor to be the Featured Artist in July 2011 at 3655 Perkins Road--at the Foyer..which is a great place to:  Love it, Shop it and Buy it....it's just a fun atmosphere with neat nooks and lots of surprises in all price ranges.

And, just a side note, during the day, I like to send them text messages--well especially Lisa Toth and Danielle Harris  to say I am in the area--translation is---start brewing the coffee. I feel like I get the royal treatment by their staff and to me coffee is a royal gesture.

"Crown Royal" # 3---will begin on # 4 soon. I am waiting on my new canvases...waiting...waiting...but they arrive tonight.

Just Chillin'

Not Friday yet, but this Pelican is Just Chillin'. And, since it's summer, most of your are taking vacations I hope and chillin' or sitting out in the sun by a pool basking in some good Vitamin D.

My 3rd Pelican is hanging at Lagniappe Frame Shoppe on Jefferson --entitled Pelican on Board...and literally it is on a board. The Pelican on Board will be donated to LPB for their Art & Travel Auction.

Mr. Lou--a nice man that lives next door-was nice enough to cut up more boards for me in various sizes...so more Pelicans will be landing on board by way of a paintbrush...images to be featured later on this blog and FB.

Well...introducing the one that reminds me to NOT sweat the small stuff...and  just....Chill.

Swamp Pop Ballet

This crawfish painting was # 3 in the Crustacean series...and they are still dancing. Find these dancers at The Foyer on Perkins if you are in the area and they will make their debut on  June 10th at Lagniappe Frame Shoppe for an arts event/ fundraiser.

And, you may always e-mail about these Prima Donnas or Prima Dancers

Is it really Friday? I am dancing now. Oh,  I am twirling now. May the sun shine all weekend and those pesky mosquitos stay away. May they remain in the swamp.

Welcome to My World!

It's late in the evening, we're wrapping up the blog design, and all I can think about is diving into a heap of delicious boiled crawfish and sipping an ice cold Rolling Rock.  Instead, I'll share this painting of mine with you, which you can buy as a print at The Foyer in Baton Rouge!  And soon, as a stone coaster upon which you can sit your choice of ice cold brew!

The Chosen One, 18x18, Acrylic
by Sharon Brown Furrate

I hope you enjoy reading SFA from time to time as you're chilling out at the end of a long day.  I'm all about relaxing, enjoying life, and finding happiness in the little things, and I think you'll come to realize that my artwork does just that.

Stay tuned for more!!
